---update---

I’d like to dedicate this work to liquidators, who sacrificed their life to save us. They are among the bravest of the world. They are heroes.
I’m very grateful to deviantART community for respecting the tragedy of my nation. Thanks to dA, people around the globe remember about the 26th of April. History of Chernobyl cannot be forgotten. Tragedy of millions should become the example for billions. I’m personally thankful to everyone who has visited this page and especially grateful to =otsego-amigo and ^PorcelainPoet.

Daily DeviationIn memory of the Chernobyl disaster which occurred April 26th, 1986 I am featuring Take a seat by ~Brute-ua. Guided Tours inside the deserted areas of Pripyat, Ukraine now allow people to experience the eerie desolation and emptiness of a place that was once home to around 50,000 people prior to the nuclear accident. ~Brute-ua captured a tragic and important part of history with this thought provoking and profound photograph. What makes you a good photographer? Hi-end cameras, lenses, lights etc.? I always thought that even a dead-brain monkey can take a good shot with hi-end set which includes highly expensive camera and even more expensive lens. Nowadays cameras can almost think for them selves and make a good shot.

So what really makes you a good photographer? It is the ability to SEE and to FEEL what you want to show people in your photography. Your works must touch some strings in the hearts or the souls of the people. I have never been to Pripyat. Though I dream about, that some day I will be able to go there. I've seen many shots from the Zone, but only some of them could give me the chills.

"Take a seat" by :iconbrute-ua: is a marvelous shot. It glued my eyes to it when I first saw in the DD section. It is well-deserved! Everything is great here..the colors, the angle and most important-the mood. I still think that this is one of the best photographs on Deviant Art. Sergey knew exactly what he wanted to show us. This shot is only a mere glimpse to the Zone. And thanks to Sergey, you also can take a trip there. Only without taking a doze of radiation.

This is so insanely beautiful. I love photographs of Chernobyl. The time you took the photograph is perfect for the feeling you get from the image. Great choice using the bench. Amazing color scheme for the dreariness. Beautiful, amazing, perfect, favorited.

"When the imagination sleeps, words are emptied of their meaning: a deaf population absent-mindedly registers the condemnation of a man. ... there is no other solution but to speak out and show the obscenity hidden under the verbal cloak." - Albert Camus
Wow. So this is definitely the most impressive photo I see recently. The composition is well-balanced and I really love colors and atmosphere of this picture. The only bad thing I see - I think it's a little bit blurred. But it doesn't matter, because it's really awesome work.
beautiful ..!
